Properly cleaning and maintaining your stone fixtures are an important part of keeping your them in good shape. Let the professionals at Prestige Stone, LLC make your stone fixtures look like new!

SOME THINGS TO AVOID

-  Prolonged exposure to oils and oil-based products
-  Extreme Heat

It is rare, but possible, to develop a crack in granite from to much heat. A good rule of thumb is to treat it like glass, and use coasters and hot pads. 

Granite is the hardest of the natural stones available. It is most resistant to scratching or chemical etching, but it is still possible to damage the surface of the granite.

HOW TO PROPERLY CLEAN YOUR TOPS

Prestige Stone is a StonePro supplier that offers cleaners for all types of stone.  Liquid dish soap is an alternative to use if you do not have a specific stone cleaner on hand.  

Spills should be cleaned up and not allowed to stand on the stone for a long time as they may soak in and stain.

HOW TO RE-SEAL YOUR STONE

The natural stone on your project supplied by Prestige Stone, LLC has been sealed with a penetrating silicone sealant. The sealer will help protect the granite, but will not make it impervious to staining.

The sealer should last for many years; however, you may find that it is necessary to reseal. A simple test of the sealer is to place a wet sponge or rag on the surface for 5-10 minutes.

After removing the sponge you should not be able to notice where the sponge was placed. If there is a dark area under the sponge we recommend that the stone be resealed.
